The name of the café is inspired by the astrolabe, the most important instrument of astronomy in the medieval world. A tool connected to the most divine possessions of the universe; the Sun and stars. This astronomical computer was an innovation perfected by the Arabs with many different uses, including: navigation, telling time, calculating distances and discovering the positions of the planets. It was highly developed in the Islamic world, demonstrating creativity and originality – which is also the inspired essence of our café.

The main use of an astrolabe was to prove an ability to see beyond what is right in front of you. This ancient tool symbolizes the challenge to understand the wide universe and the unknown as it was mentioned in history that it was used by explorers seeking an all-new. Voyagers lost in seas and the desert used the astrolabe as it was their only savior.
